In 113 days, I’ll be boarding a plane to Madrid, Spain to begin my Camino adventure.  I’ve wanted to walk El Camino de Santiago ever since I’d seen the movie ‘The Way’ almost 8 years ago – the impetus for so many who also watched it. If you haven’t seen it, take the time. It’s a wonderful story about a father and son and the 500 mile walk across northern Spain.

In preparation, I’m learning Spanish – ¿Cómo está? 🤓 – making lists of things to pack and buy, researching the albergues where we’ll be staying and generally just being obsessed with the idea that, once I arrive, my one daily task for five weeks will be to walk from one village to another with all that I’m bringing with me on my back.  I’m beyond excited.

I’ll be sharing this adventure with my best amiga. We plan to walk separately and together – giving us each an opportunity to experience the trail in our own way.  No one, it’s said, finishes the walk the same person that began. I’m looking forward to meeting that person when I get to Santiago.
